ABOUT

James Morris (he/him) is a queer Australian/ Lebanese photographer and filmmaker residing on unceded Naarm land (Melbourne). For the past 7 years, James has been the founder and creative director of Maison baked (FKA Baked Goods) and Cook Up Sessions, being able to combine his background of performance and music with a sense of community.

His grandfather was a fashion designer and photographer. His first camera was a 35mm hand me down out of his grandfathers collection and started his fascination with imagery and storytelling.James is passionate about celebrating the different subsections of fashion, art and music, focusing on diversity, inclusion and ethical practice. James’ goal has always been to provide platforms for underrepresented communities and authentically showcase people.

He has been steadily working freelance since 2017 covering a great variety of diverse imagery – covering editorial, press, commercial, event, music and campaign. Some recent clients include Adidas, Footlocker, Warner Music, Universal Music, Sony Music, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, GRID Series, Merribek Council, Officeworks, Mushroom Group, Brunswick Music Festival.
